BASICS OF AN INVETER

An Inverter is a device which converts/changes AC power to DC power.
Most commonly used inverters have an input of 12v DC and 240v AC with a frequency of 50/60 Hz.Although the AC output can be adjusted by the preset/potentiometer on the circuit to give 110V AC.

Another thing to consider during the construction project of inverter is where it will be used. You may damage your electrical equipments if for instance you use a wrong waveform inverter.

A modified pure sine-wave inverter is the best which is used by voltage and current sensitive appliances. eg hospital equipments, computers, etc.

Another type is sine-wave inverter. Its good and used in a wide range of appliances.

There is also square wave form inveter which is simple in construction.

This is one of the inverters i personally built and tested.

This can be used in lighting and non sensitive equipments eg radios.
Sensitive equipments should always work with sine-wave inverters.
